Student Built Homes

Career Center House Project

Decades ago, HBA of Billings members decided it was time to invest in the building industry’s future. That is when the Career Center House Project was created in conjunction with School District #2. The idea was to give students hands-on training in building homes. With the help of the HBA, 32 homes have been built over the past 32 years, with more to come! This program has been nationally recognized and has also become a prototype for other private-public partnerships across the country.

College of Technology House Project

This program could be called the next stage of home building outside the confines of a classroom. Montana State University-Billings College of Technology is partnering with the HBA to help future builders take their skills to the next level by building a home. This program offers additional hands-on experience that will help propel these students into a building and construction career.
